Education is very important to the Chinese, and parents do everything they can to help their children finish school and obtain a good education. China provides an elementary education to every citizen, and then nine years of education are required by law. "Nearly 100 percent of first-grade children are enrolled, and most finish elementary school." Girls in the country are least likely to show up because they are usually needed at home. In china most of the primary schools are public and free. High schools and universities require tuition, which is paid for by the students' parents. In case your parents don't have enough money for tuition, university students may also sign a contract with a state company that will sponsor them in return for a few years of work after graduation.
