Climate
China's climate ranges from sub-arctic in the north to sub-tropical in the south. Due to the monsoons in the southeast they sometimes cause frequent summer floods that can kill thousands each year. Sandstorms in the north are increasingly common due to desertification. Also China contains some active volcanoes. China has a variety of different weather such as; frequent typhoons (along southern and eastern coasts); tsunamis; droughts; damaging floods; earthquakes( CIA & Culture Grams)
Geography
With an area of 3,705,407 square miles, China is roughly the same size as the United States. Most people live in the east where there are rivers and plains for agriculture, because mountains and deserts cover much of western china. China's other major geographic features differ extremely between regions, ranging from the Himalaya Mountains to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to subtropical islands. The Great Wall of China is 5,488 miles. China is home to some of the world's longest rivers like the Yangtze River which runs 3,900 miles. Overall there are mostly mountains, high plateaus, deserts in west and plains, deltas, and hills in east (Culture Grams)
